now there are no white backgrounds with the default environments.įrom my understanding, Gemvision decided not to use the render software they had be licensing for Matrix9 when then went to MatrixGold, and reverted back to their own system. I could get a true, white background with cut down dramatically on the amount of ink used whenever I print out a render for a job bag. The backgrounds with Matrix 9 were better as well.
But my diamonds look like crap with every single kind of rendering setup I've tried! They looked washed out and fake, more like glass or crystal. Not only do you really need to work to create a render model by union-ing everything together then subtracting with cutters and such (more time consuming), since you can't have your surfaces overlapping with gems. MatrixGold just does not provide that same kind of result.
Matrix 9 had a great and easy rendering system, just designate what materials you wanted each part to be, select a ground plane and environment, and boom: great renders.
